Frequently Asked Questions

Straight answers about what VenueGuard checks, what it doesn’t, and how it works for wedding and event venues.

What does VenueGuard actually check?

VenueGuard runs passive, read-only checks on the public parts of your venue website: HTTPS and TLS certificate validity and expiry, HTTP security headers, mixed content, whether your inquiry and tour-request pages load and whether their forms post to a secure (HTTPS) address, third-party booking embeds such as HoneyBook, Tripleseat and Calendly, public WordPress indicators, and your email DNS records (SPF, DMARC and MX).

Can my website be online while my inquiry form is broken?

Yes. Basic uptime tools only confirm that your homepage responds. A page can load normally while the form on it posts to an insecure address, a booking embed fails to load, or a script error stops submission. Those are the problems VenueGuard looks for.

Does VenueGuard need my WordPress, hosting or email password?

No. Every check uses information any visitor or mail server can already see. We never ask for logins, never install plugins, and never change anything on your site.

Will a scan slow down or harm my website?

No. A scan makes a small number of ordinary page and DNS requests, similar to one visitor browsing a few pages. It does not submit your forms, attempt logins, or run attack tools.

Does VenueGuard confirm that my form emails actually arrive?

Not from a public scan. We can see whether a form loads and where it sends data, but proving end-to-end delivery requires a controlled test submission that you authorize. We clearly label which findings are verified and which are limitations.

Why do my quotes and replies end up in couples’ spam folders?

A common cause is missing or misaligned SPF and DMARC records for your sending domain. VenueGuard checks whether those records exist and are valid, and explains in plain English what your web or email provider needs to change.

What happens if my SSL certificate expires?

Browsers show a full-page security warning before anyone reaches your site, and many visitors leave. VenueGuard records your certificate’s expiry date and flags certificates that are close to expiring.

How is the score calculated?

Scores come from fixed rules applied to the evidence we observed, not from guesswork. Each finding explains what we found, why it matters and how to fix it, and the raw evidence we collected is included in your report. A score is a summary, not a guarantee that your site is secure. See our methodology page for details.

Do you fix the problems you find?

Every finding comes with a clear recommended fix your web developer or hosting provider can follow. Hands-on remediation can be arranged separately; contact us to discuss your situation.

How much does it cost?

The free website check costs nothing and needs no credit card. The service is $149 one-time setup + $99/month monitoring. The one-time setup includes a full assessment of your website, inquiry forms, booking embeds, SSL and email records.

What are the billing and cancellation terms?

Before you commit, you receive a written proposal that sets out the scope, billing schedule and cancellation terms. Nothing is charged until you have approved it.

Who is VenueGuard for?

Wedding venues, event spaces, banquet halls, wineries and other hospitality businesses that rely on their website to receive inquiries and tour requests. We started in California and work with venues across the United States.

Can I scan a website I don’t own?

The free check only reads public information, but please only scan websites you own or are authorized to manage. Detailed reports and ongoing monitoring are provided only to the venue or its authorized representative.

Who can see my report?

Reports are private by default. The person who ran the check receives a private link, and operators can access it only to support you. We do not publish venue reports.

How do I stop receiving emails from VenueGuard?

Use the unsubscribe link in any email, or visit our opt-out page. Requests are honored promptly.
